A Guide to Cosmetics and Looking Your Best

Posted on June 20, 2013 by News Health

According to cosmetologists, beauty products can give you a confidence boost but not good health.women40 Women should take a holistic approach to life and beauty, and this includes proper nutrition, exercise, sleep, and cosmetic products. Some women resort to pill popping and collagen injections while others use organic products only. The most important things to consider, whether looking into high-end treatments or homemade facial masks, are factors such as age, health history, genes, and more. Age is an important consideration. Women in their 40s and 50s use anti-aging creams to make their skin fresh and reduce wrinkles. Not every cream is right for you, however – check the ingredients on the label. Look for ingredients that cause skin allergies and irritation.

Moreover, some products are designed for sun-damaged and normal-to-dry skin while others are ideal for oily skin. Products for damaged skin improve uneven skin texture and boost collagen production. Women with breakout-prone skin should opt for cosmetics for oily or normal-to-oily skin which helps alleviate redness and irritation from rosacea. Women in their 40s should also use creams that help make their skin firmer and elastic. Such products increase the amount of glycosaminoglycans and stimulate the production of collagen, resulting in an improved texture and fresher skin. Creams that contain vitamin C are ideal for sun-damaged skin because they increase the production of dermal collagen and skin-support substances. Vitamin C plays an important role in wrinkle reduction. It helps reduce irritation and inflammations, speeds repair processes on the cellular level, and improves the barrier response of the skin. As an ingredient, it is also used to treat skin discolorations. Vitamin E is also used to treat tired skin. It prevents cell damage, forms a protective layer, and speeds up the healing process. Products that contain vitamin E are used for cell renewal, wrinkle reduction, and scars. Vitamin E is known and labeled in different ways, including tocopheryl succinate, alpha tocopherol, tocopheryl linoleate, and others. Other vitamins that are beneficial for the skin include K, B3, and A.
