If you want to eat healthy food, you can use the eatwell plate to make your choice easier. This exemplary eatwell plate includes healthy food from different food groups, as well as the correct proportions you should use.
An eatwell plate should include the following foods:
– lots of fruits and vegetables
– bread, rice, potatoes, pasta. You should use wholegrain foods every time you can
– milk and diary products
– meat, fish, eggs, beans – these all are non-diary sources of protein
– limited amounts of foods and drinks that contain high levels of fat and sugar
You should try following a balanced diet regime and consume from all food groups in order to be healthy. This doesn’t mean you should eat all of the above mentioned products in the same meal but you should try using them throughout the week.
