Mass Produce vs. Organic Beauty and Skincare Products

Posted on April 22, 2013April 22, 2013 by News Health

Government regulations allow a number of ingredients and chemicals to be used in the production of creams, nail polishes, eye shadows, and solutions that we use on our hair and skin. Skincare ProductsOrganic products are a healthier alternative when it comes to skincare products. They contain compounds, chemicals, and artificial flavorings and colorings. While many products include harmful and toxic substances such as dioxane and mercury, organic beauty products feature healthy, eco-friendly ingredients. These include aloe vera, honey, essential oils, and others.

Non-organic products cause breathing difficulties, hormonal imbalances, chronic headache, and skin irritations and rashes. The reason is that manufacturers use cheap ingredients. Organic products, on the other hand, help eliminate blemishes and sun spots and make wrinkles less visible. These ingredients are extracted from plants that are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, hormones, and pesticides. They purify and cleanse the skin and make it smooth, fresh, and young looking.

Organic beauty and skincare products contain no known carcinogens or ingredients that are not tested for health hazards. One study conducted at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine revealed that the blood of participants contained a total of 91 chemicals, pollutants, and industrial compounds. Some of them are banned for use while others are carcinogens. And some of these compounds are found in skincare and beauty products. In fact, manufacturers use around 5,000 chemicals in the production of personal care cosmetics. Toxins are absorbed through the blood stream and accumulate in major organs of the human body.

The problem is that some products are disguised as organic and natural but contain synthetic ingredients. Check the label before buying and avoid creams and solutions with coal tar, anti-bacterials, fragrances, and formaldehyde. They are associated with health problems such as asthma, compromised immune system, eye irritations, respiratory problems, and many others. Organic products are a healthy alternative in that they contain no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, saccharin, and triclosan. Organic skincare products include aromatic plant essences, extracts, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that protect, moisturize, nourish, and exfoliate the skin.
