• Make sure you consume enough amounts of mono- and poly-unsaturated fats
• Avoid eating foods rich in cholesterol
• Reduce the consummation of foods that contain a lot of trans fats
• Consume more fiber
• Do not consume large amounts of sugar and foods rich in simple carbohydrates
• Do not take excess amounts of salt
• Try to variegate the food you consume, do not eat the same food over and over again
• Consume alcohol moderately and regularly rather than consuming large amounts rarely
