Treatment of Menopausal Symptoms with Food

Food is not only essential for the normal function of our body systems. It provides us with energy to live and to perform our everyday activities. In addition, food can be very beneficial for treatment of various conditions and symptoms.

Menopause is one natural condition that can be soothed with food. Certain types of food can treat the symptoms of this condition that is experienced by all women. Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 40 and 60 years. When menopause occurs, the body stops producing estrogen and progesterone, and the monthly menstrual cycles stop.

Mamenopause dietny women however experience unpleasant menopausal symptoms that make them feel uncomfortable. These symptoms may include hot flashes and vaginal dryness. But these uncomfortable side effects can be reduces and treated with suitable dietary plan.

Women who experience such menopausal symptoms are recommended to consume more of the following foods:
– Salmon, tuna fish, herring, mackerel, halibut and other cold water fish because they are a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids
– Flaxseeds
– Soy foods and soy nuts
– Legumes
– Whole grains and seed
– Wild yam
– Sea vegetables

The diet should include reduced quantities of spicy foods.
