Why You Like Need to Drink More Water

Most Americans don’t drink enough water. Many of us substitute other drinks such as coffee, tea, energy drinks, or soda in place of water. However, these drinks may even make you more dehydrated. For example, soda has an especially high salt content. This means that drinking soda may actually dehydrate you further.

There are many symptoms of not drinking enough water. You likely have some of these symptoms yourself. Many people confuse them for other things, but dehydration is a common cause. The first symptom is fatigue. A lack of water can make you fatigued both physically and mentally. It can be hard to focus. Further, you may experience sporadic headaches and migraines. You may even feel more irritable or sad than normal. Many times, dehydration is to blame for these symptoms.

The solution to these symptoms is really quite simple. Your family doctor will tell you that you should be drinking more water. However, how much should you drink? It really depends on several factors such as body size and activity. The average adult should drink about two liters of water per day.
